Meet the humans behind Cuddle a Cow

We figured if you’re trusting us with an hour of your day (and your emotional attachment to tiny fluffy cows), we should probably introduce ourselves.

We’re Dan and Stephanie, partners in life and the humans behind Cuddle A Cow.

We live nearby in Redmond, raise four kids, spend a lot of our lives around animals, and somehow found ourselves building a business centered around cuddling miniature Highland coos.

Honestly, this was not on our bingo card.

Like a lot of good stories, this one started somewhere unexpected.

A few years ago, we traveled to Scotland and completely fell in love with Highland cows in their native land. Big personalities. Endless fluff. Terrible haircuts somehow working perfectly. We were hooked.

But the truth is, Cuddle A Cow started long before Scotland.

For as long as he can remember, Dan has loved bringing people together through meaningful experiences.

Before fluffy cows entered the picture, Dan co-owned a snowboard magazine and event company, creating events built around community and shared experiences. Later, he ran a photography conference where photographers came together to learn, connect, and grow.

Even through a longtime career as a wedding and portrait photographer, the thing Dan loved most was always the same:

The people. The connection. The moments that actually matter.

At the heart of all of it has always been one idea:

Create something people genuinely connect through.

As parents ourselves, we’ve also felt the challenge of finding experiences where families can slow down, be together, and actually connect in a way that feels meaningful, regardless of the weather, the season, or the stage of life.

Something fun.

Something memorable.

Something that gets everyone off their phones for a little while.

Something that becomes a core memory.

At the same time, Dan knew photography had to be part of this experience.

Because when something special happens, the best gift is being able to hold onto it.

Not just the memory, but the smile on your kid’s face. The unexpected laugh. The way everyone looked completely ridiculous trying not to fall in love with tiny fluffy cows.

And somewhere along the way, it all clicked.

The animals. The farm. The photography. The experience design. The community building.

It feels like a lifetime of seemingly random passions somehow came together to create Cuddle A Cow.

Stephanie is very much part of Cuddle A Cow too, though there’s a good chance you’ll also spot her running The Equestrian School PNW right here on the property. What started with their oldest kiddo’s love of horses eventually turned into another family passion.

Together, we’re building something intentionally small, thoughtful, and filled with joy.

A place where families, friends, couples, homeschool groups, and animal lovers can laugh more than expected, slow down for a while, and make memories that actually stick.

Mostly though, we just can’t wait to welcome you to the farm.

We truly cannot wait to see the smiles on your faces when you meet Bowie and Mac.
